the world by who?

Hello! My name is Em,

I am a senior visual communications major with a sports media minor at the University of South Carolina Honors College, where I currently work as a New and Creative Media intern with Gamecock Athletics. I am a primary videographer for our three (hopefully 4 this year) time National Championship winning Women's Basketball team. I am also a licensed Part 107 drone pilot! Keep scrolling to hear a little bit about what this business means to me<3

MY STORY

In my life, I have been a potter's apprentice, a boxer, an archer, a ukulele player, the valedictorian of my high school (AKA an absolute nerd), a bodybuilder, an award winning artist, a tennis player, a singer, designed dresses and clothing complemented by Donna Karan, owned a clothing company sold through amazon, made jewelry, managed a surf shop, collected sneakers, written books, taken up running, learned to metalsmith, and taken up a lot of other side quests. But the one and only constant in my life has been a camera. I begged my parents for a point-and-shoot camera for Christmas when I was 8 years old. When I was 12, I upgraded to a Canon EOS Rebel and I was on top of the world. Even when I didn't have my little Kodak point and shoot or my Canon on me, I would force my friends to make short films or do Photoshoots with me, so often that I would come over and they would immediately say "we are NOT taking photos today." I first REALLY fell in love with videography when an injury took me out of sparring after boxing for 3 years. I started working as an intern for the media company that managed the social media accounts for my boxing gym and knew instantly that this was it for me. I had been bouncing for years between going to art school or going into chemistry research (wild choices I know), but the second I had a camera in my hands none of that mattered. I have shot everything from weddings to restaurants and from car companies to gyms, but sports have consistently been my favorite thing to shoot. The connection between players and the way that the game brings together fans from all over to such an extreme level will forever be my favorite thing to capture. I have always loved telling stories, and no matter what story you want to share, I would be honored to help bring your world to life!
